歐國聯》洛夫倫：莫德里奇、薩拉、凱恩在世界盃後透支陷掙扎
歐洲國家聯賽，英格蘭0-0戰平克羅埃西亞，不如世足賽準決賽來得精彩。
利物浦後衛洛夫倫（Dejan Lovren）接受《獨立報》的採訪時表示，包括莫德里奇（Luka Modric）、凱恩（Harry Kane）、薩拉（Mohamed Salah）在內的球員，在世界盃過後都有些掙扎。
比賽中，洛夫倫和凱恩有直接的攻防。他談及凱恩表現：「你不能僅憑1場比賽就說凱恩的表現不如意。不僅他是這樣。有不少克羅埃西亞球員也都感覺枯竭了。對英格蘭來說也是一樣的，大家都想忘掉沒進決賽的事。他們也感到國內球迷們的熱情。要從這些事中走出來真的不容易，馬上適應真的很困難。」
「現在對我來說，最重要的就是得找回好狀態，但所有去世界盃的球員都會有這種調整適應的過程。就連盧卡（莫德里奇）也跟我說，他也很掙扎。」洛夫倫表示，「大家都在掙扎，甚至薩拉也是。人們在情感上、還有生理上、真的都為世界盃付出了太多太多，最終大家的狀態都會回來的，但這會花掉一些時間。」
克羅埃西亞10月還有一場對約旦的友誼賽要踢。主帥達利奇（Zlatko Dalic）宣佈，莫德里奇、拉基蒂奇（Ivan Rakitic）、佩里西奇（Ivan Perisic）這3名老將被特准放假返回俱樂部，而科瓦契奇（Mateo Kovacic）則因為腳踝有輕傷也回到切爾西。
